As you know on Thursday, February 11th after school the 5th grade play auditions took place. This amazing program is runned by Mrs. Rosenberg and Mrs.Mccurdy! To audition they sang a song by Ponce de Leon and read a line from the script. All students were given a great opportunity to have a chance to be in the chorus, have some lines, do dance numbers and even sing a solo in the play. In the play, there are great parts that are not only funny, but educational at the same time. There's even a part with a game show in it! That part will hopefully get the crowd laughing. The fifth graders will be working hard after school on Mondays preparing to perform in front of the school and their loved ones along with their directors. The students and staff are looking forward to seeing the fascinating play about the American revolution on June 10th, 2016!

Have you ever wondered what 5th grade is learning about in music? It’s the Beatles! The Beatles are an amazing boy band. With four members on the road to their victory in music, they take a huge step into the popular musicians crew! Over 55,000 people saw the Beatles at Shea Stadium. In the 5th grade music class the students are learning about the beatles history and they are learning about the crew members in the band, and they are learning about beatlemania which is an extreme enthusiasm for the Beatles. Also they fifth graders are learning to play “When I’m 64” with instruments.
What is 5th grade doing? In Mrs. Rosenberg's class they are working on the animal adaptation project. That project happens when you pick an animal and make it look like the animal is adapting to a new habitat. In other words, you take an animal and put it into a new habitat with new adaptations. Also they are doing a build your wild self, which you create adaptations with your character. You write a story about the adaptations. In Ms. Englehearts class they are learning about the revolutionary and how the British taxed the Bostonians. The 5th grade play is coming up. They are performing the 13 colonies. Also going around 5th grade DARE is going on. Officer Joe and Officer Candice run the dare program. As you can see the 5th grade has been very busy but also have been doing lots of fun and interesting activities.
The 5th graders at Mansion love to learn. Check out what they are up to.
