All South Jersey Honors Band is a band competition that has all of South Jersey’s bands compete against each other to see which band plays best. The elementary section of the competition's director is Mr.Edmund G. Cook, from Cinnaminson, and the Manager is Mr.Christopher Carl, from Lumberton. The high school section of the All South Jersey Honors Band already performed, and our school had Ethan Davis (6th Grade) representing our school, and the high school. The students nominated from the Mansion Avenue 6th Grade to compete in the elementary section of the competition were as follows:
In the Saxophone section:
Mary Kate Owens and Joe Walsh.
In the Trumpet section:
Chase Gilbert and Brian Dickie.
In the Trombone section:
David Amorosi and Abigail Innesenzo.
In the Clarinet section:
In the Bass Clarinet section:
In the Percussion section:
Hayden Wiltsey and Jackson Chambers.
And finally, in the Flute section:
They chose which nominees would be in the competition randomly. Only 4 students were officially appointed into the competition. The students that got in are David Amorosi, Hayden Wiltsey, Victoria Lopez, and Joe Walsh. This was a random draw, so everyone nominated had a fair chance.
The four students that made it from our school are all in the red band. They will be competing against the other bands, Green and Blue, by playing the songs Glorioso, Dona Nobis Pacem, El Pato Loco, Dark Adventure, and American Spirit March. The band that performs the best will win. May the best band win!
