At the convention, there were over 300 workshops and seminars that teachers could attend. At the workshops and seminars, teachers discuss topics and share ways to help students learn and be more successful in a variety of topics.
A speaker at the teacher convention was Pais Sahlberg. He talked to teachers about ways that they could help students succeed.
Mrs. Hartstein, a fifth grade teacher at Mansion has been going to the New Jersey teacher convention since 1994. The only time she has missed one of the conventions was when it was cancelled after Hurricane Sandy, two years ago.
Mrs. Hartstein said, “My favorite workshop at the convention was technology.” She also said, “I learned new apps for the ChromeBook that I will share with 6th grade and some really neat websites that I will use with my fifth grade class.” Mrs.Hartstein enjoys travelling to Atlantic City to spend the day learning new things so she can go back and teach these new things to her students.
