This year, some lucky classes are going to get to try something new on the test!
What I mean is, Mansion has decided to change things up. The PARCC Assessment, a test just like the NJASK only better-it’s online! 4 classes, picked by teachers, get to sort of test run, or sample this test and see if it is better or needs improvement. Those lucky winners are Ms. McCurdy’s, Mrs. Hartstein’s, Mrs. Beebe’s, and Mrs. Battista’s classes, in 3rd or 5th grade. The magic happens on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 24-26. The 5th grade only has to take 2 tests and the 3rd grade has 3 to take. We are all so excited to sample the PARCC!
You probably are wondering, what is different about this test? Well, to start off, it is online. It also has lots of things that the NJASK dosen’t have. Some things are, the PARCC has eliminators where you can eliminate the multiple choice answers that don’t fit, so it is easier. It also has protractors, inch and centimeter rulers and sometimes calculators, for the math section. 3rd and 5th graders got to try out these great gadgets!
One of the 5th graders said,” Some of the questions were kind of hard, and it seemed more complex than the regular test.” Others agreed, but we can all say that taking the test was a super fun experience!
