Many Children go to sleep every night will no pajamas, how can we help?
Every January, Mansion Avenue School and Haviland Avenue School take part in the Pajama Program. This Program asks students to donate unused pajamas to children who don’t have any.
Outside the main office there’s a box where you can put the pajamas in. All the pajamas must be new and have tags on them. At the end of the pajama program, staff members bring the pajamas to needy children.
This is a great opportunity for us to put ourselves in someone else's shoes and think about what it’s like to not even have pajamas. Many children often forget how lucky they are. This pajama drive helps us to realize how lucky we are, but it also helps us to think about how we can help others.
For the first time, we are holding a competition between Haviland and Mansion. Who can donate more? Outside the main office there’s a graph where the numbers of pajama’s are. As of now it is a heated battle.
So, this weeked if you go shopping, buy some pajamas and donate them to the pajama drive! We hope that we can help many needy families to feel cozy and warm this winter.
