Winter Festival Honors Band is a band that is made up of band students from many other towns, and the three band directors, Mrs. Bracy, Mrs. Mannion, and Mrs. Moore, think of it as a great way for people to connect. This year students from Mt. Ephraim, Brooklawn, and Audubon participated. This band’s concert was on January 16th this year. There were nine songs. Star Spangled Banner, Mount Rushmore, When the Band Comes Marchin’ In, Beethoven's Ninth, Beauty and the Beast, Surprise Symphony Variations, Pulaski Polka, the Wild Old west, and More Cowbell. Mrs.Moore (the conductor representing Audubon) said, “This band is for people who want an extra challenge”. That’s true because this band has nine songs to learn in a month! And they only get to play with each other two times. Mrs. Moore thinks of this band as very fun, and a great challenge for many reasons. Her favorite out of nine songs was the Pulaski Polka which is a polish folk son. Now, her favorite song to conduct (each band director conducted three songs) was More Cowbell which she thinks of as a very fun, upbeat song. So, this band is very fun, is a great challenge, and most importantly, it brings people together, and is a fun way to do it.
